Online payments with Stripe

Plexbook handles every online payment through Stripe – on your own Stripe account. Your customers' money goes straight to you, and Plexbook takes 0% commission.

Stripe

What is Stripe?

Stripe is a payment provider that millions of businesses worldwide use to accept online payments – from one-person studios to large corporations. Stripe accepts the payment, checks it and pays the money out to your bank account.

In Europe, Stripe operates as a licensed electronic money institution supervised by the Central Bank of Ireland. For card payments Stripe is certified to PCI DSS Level 1, the highest security standard of the card industry.

For you this means: no separate merchant agreement with a bank and no card terminal. Your customers pay on a secure checkout page, and you see every payment in Plexbook.

Your benefits

Why Plexbook relies on Stripe

  • Money goes straight to you

Every payment lands in your own Stripe account and is paid out to your bank account. Plexbook has no access to your money.

  • 0% commission

Plexbook earns nothing on your bookings. Only Stripe's processing fees apply – according to Stripe's pricing.

  • Automatic invoices

After every payment Plexbook creates the invoice, emails it and records the income in your overview.

  • Refunds in one click

If someone cancels, you refund right in the dashboard. Stripe sends the money back and Plexbook creates the credit note.

  • Subscriptions and passes

Stripe collects monthly fees automatically; you sell 10-class passes, vouchers and products in your shop.

  • Secure checkout

Customers enter payment details only on Stripe's checkout page – with 3D Secure wherever the bank requires it.

How it works

How Stripe is built into Plexbook

Plexbook uses Stripe Connect: your organization gets its own Stripe account connected to Plexbook. Payments are taken in your name, and the money is yours from the start.

  1. 1The customer books and pays in your shop
  2. 2The payment lands in your Stripe account
  3. 3Stripe pays out to your bank account
  • The payment is charged directly on your organization's Stripe account, not on Plexbook's.
  • Plexbook matches every payment with its booking, invoice and income automatically – refunds and chargebacks included.
  • Customers pay online for bookings in your shop, subscriptions, class passes and products, and through payment links you email from the dashboard.
  • You set the payout schedule to your bank account in your Stripe dashboard.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about payments

Do I need my own Stripe account?

Yes, for online payments in your shop. You create it right from the Plexbook dashboard. The account belongs to your organization, not to Plexbook.

What does Stripe cost?

Plexbook takes 0% commission on your bookings. Stripe charges a fee per payment that depends on the payment method and where the card was issued – current prices are on Stripe's pricing page. For Plexbook itself you only pay your monthly plan.

When do I get my money?

Stripe pays your balance out to your bank account automatically. You choose the schedule, for example daily or weekly, in your Stripe dashboard. For new accounts the first payout can take a little longer.

Which payment methods can I offer?

Card, Apple Pay and Google Pay – for single bookings, packages, vouchers, payment links and subscriptions. Cash payments you record in the dashboard yourself.

Can I record cash payments too?

Yes. In the dashboard you add participants with "Paid in cash" or "Cash due", or email them a payment link. Online payments in the shop always go through Stripe.

Does Plexbook see my customers' card details?

No. Card details are entered and processed only on Stripe's checkout page. Plexbook only stores which payment method was used and whether the payment arrived.

What happens with refunds and chargebacks?

You start refunds in the dashboard: Stripe sends the money back and Plexbook creates the credit note. If someone disputes a payment with their bank, Plexbook shows it on the booking – you resolve it in the Stripe dashboard.
